Sex Therapy New Zealand Blog

Just like every other Kiwi, our hearts and minds have been filled with concern for the people of Christchurch. We were particularly concerned about two of our team members who live down there and were out of contact for around 24 hours or so. We are very relieved becauseHelen Mounsey, one of our company directors and Dennis Mills are both physically unhurt, as are there families. Both are living with relatives now. Helen's house is in a bad way. Dennis hasn't said how his house is.

Not only are we rejoicing about Helen and Dennis but many of our team are also rejoicing about the rescue of Anne Malcolm, a much loved counsellor. Anne worked in Tauranga many years ago and was the, "Applications Approvals Officer" with the Bay of Plenty Therapy Foundation for some years, which Mary Hodson now chairs. Anne has multiple injuries and will take a little time to get back on her feet.   Anne, we wish you a speedy and complete recovery - all the very best to you and your family.

Some of our Christchurch based services have been affected and we are working to restore them or to find short term alternatives. Our 0800 number is out of service and we are asking people to ring 07 572 2802 instead. We hope that by early next week the free calling number will be up and running again.

Our on-line consultations are also out of action until further notice. If required, we can offer Skype video consultations as an alternative. Anyone interested in this should email:  admin@sextherapy.co.nz.

Bookings and enquiries for the entire South Island will be handled by other regional directors - Dunedin byRobyn Salisbury; Nelson by Dr Ally Waite; Christchurch by Mary Hodson.

To our many Christchurch clients, you are in our thoughts. Helen and Dennis have asked us to convey their very best wishes to each and every one of you. They will make contact as and when they can.

It is a glorious day here in Tauranga - it belies the terrible time that people in Christchurch are having! Rest assured Christchurch, that the rest of New Zealand is thinking of you and wanting to show support. There are many, many initiatives afoot - practical ways to send help to you. Most of us feel that we can do something, albeit a small gesture, by contributing to these local initiatives and by donating to the Christchurch Relief Fund.
