I have been working in counselling, health and disability related fields since I graduated in 1983. Although, MY early work was with families that were struggling to cope with either alcohol abuse and its’ attendant problems or with anxiety, depression, compulsive and personality disorders or serious physical disability, I also taught community based counselling courses and Occupational Therapy and Human Services courses at Polytechnics. I am a member of both the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and the Association of Occupational and registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand and the New Zealand Council for Educational Research which allows her to conduct formal assessments at the C Special level.

Sid is a registered Clinical Psychologist who is trained in New Zealand. He has previous work experience in Alcohol & Drug Services, Pain and Rehabilitation Services, and Elder Health, where he provided psychological and neuropsychological assessment and treatment services, marital and relationship services, training, and supervision. He is currently in full-time private practice where he offers adult psychological and neuropsychological services, pain management, marital and relationship therapy, training, and Elder Health services. He is able to take appointments from Monday to Friday during normal office hours, and on Saturdays from 9am – 1pm. Apart from sexual concerns faced by heterosexual individuals and couples, Sid also has a special interest in issues faced by older adults, and among those of gay/lesbian/bi/transgender sexual orientation. Sid is committed to providing his clients with high quality clinical psychology and personal empowerment services. His clients can expect to receive a culturally-attuned service, and to be treated non-judgmentally, and with professionalism, respect, empathy, and positive regard.

Our Wellington trainee sex therapist is Rick Williment, Registered Psychotherapist.

Rick Williment is a registered psychotherapist, living on the Kapiti coast and offering private psychotherapy and sex therapy both in Wellington CBD and on the Kapiti coast.
Rick has dedicated his entire adult life to improving mental health and wellbeing. He has done this in national policy and service development roles, in planning, funding and organising mental health services, in sector-related project management and in clinical/ therapeutic work. Rick has clinical experience in working with youth, people with addictions and in private practice. He is also employed part-time as a counsellor for the Wellington Sexual Health Service, dealing with a wide range of sexual functioning and sexuality issues with individuals and couples. Currently he is completing the advanced sex therapy training programme offered by STNZ, and provides services as a contracted trainee.
Rick works relationally, promoting interpersonal connectedness and an intimacy-based approach to relationship and sexual satisfaction. He is mindful that it can be difficult for people to seek help for sex related issues, and always aims to be non-judgemental and totally respectful.
